My company isn't allowing work from home and I will be finding a new employer when this is over as a result.
I see what you did there.Stat Monitor Repairman said:

Not when you have to actually be taking care of all that stuff and working. My productivity has been awful, my kids are young enough to need some supervision - otherwise I leave my office and look up and the house looks like the Deltas just had a party. Or they want lunch. Or I try to get them to do something mildly educational like a worksheet. I love WFH when I'm the only one here, but this is a madhouse.hbc07 said:Noise cancelling headphones are a godsend.Aust Ag said:
You folks wanting WFH be careful what you wish for. We've been WFH since Monday, and with 3 kids and wife , dogs barking, landscaper, people ringing front door, etc., I could get nothing done (have to call customers). So, as I type this from my empty downtown office that I came to late this morning, I can tell you I had the most productive day this week. Plan to keep coming back.
Almost no traffic too!!
We've been trading shifts as much as possible. It's amazing how much energy a pack of 7 year olds have. texags08 said:Aries said:
I'm a nurse so no, they aren't letting me work from home.
Give this one as many blue stars as possible. While everyone in this thread *****es about no WFH, the rest of us in healthcare will show up and not complain one bit.
Same here, but we have an actual date...WFH through April 3.AgLiving06 said:
I'm on forced work from home until further notice.
I'd likely be fired if I tried to go into the office.
Still no guidelines on working from home for non-essential. You would think you would tell them to stay home and wait....in case the front lines go down with symptoms or exposure...then you could replace them with non-essential....Player To Be Named Later said:

Do ya one better......
Officer on my shift at the PD called in with a fever.
They told her since it was only 100.3 and not 100.4 or over, to come on in to work. So now she's on shift working with all of us.

If you work in healthcare and dont understand that ICU's cant handle the projected number of patients that are going to need care at the same time, resulting in unnecessary deaths... idk I cant help you. It's not a matter of complaining or fairness. People staying home in order to limit the amount of asymptomatic carriers infecting others sounds pretty good to most docs and nurses.
Well, that what I meant, "Good for you". Me, along with many others on this board only wish they could be at work instead of home right now.ursusguy said:
My wife's company went from alternating weeks to full blown WFH over about 2 days. She is pretty happy I got tagged to be in the office for the time being. I get stir crazy pretty fast.

I understand that completely. My comment had absolutely zero to do with that and was to lift up those of us in healthcare that have given ourselves in service of others, while also questioning the motives of those *****ing about not being able to work from home. If I thought everyone *****ing on this thread had the same mindset as you I wouldn't have commented.
You can take your condescension and shove it right back where it came from.
