A case to watch from Arlington. Should let us know how our actions are working.

Sadly a resident at the Masonic retiremement community has dies from the virus. This is confirmed. He was in the fully independent duplexes and out and about. He regularly attended social events and ate at the dining facility. He was sick for some time before it was bad enough to go to the hospital where he died. NOW they are getting full lock down and testing of every resident and employee.

If and it is a big IF there is community spread there, with so many of the residents out and about and all of the employees, then Arlington could become one of those hot spots.

Since I live here, I hope that is not the case.
I seriously hope not a single person more at that facitliy has the virus. His wife is confirmed to have a milder version of it.

He had been to the Dr several times. They kept sending him home. Finally ends up in ICU where they finally test him. Positive. Dies the next day. They then say we can now test his wife. 75 with health issues.

The real question is, where the heck did he get it?

None of the news articles I've read have said if he traveled to an active area, or if someone in his close family did.

Thankfully it was not a nursing home so the chances of him infecting others is probably lower, but definitely not zero.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Isn't that the whole point? Anyone can be asymptomatic and spread this. It is a mild illness if that.

It's not a big if. That's the problem.

Yes, there is community spread of this all over the United States. It's just not obvious yet because most of the cases are mild and we are still hardly testing anybody.

We didn't have testing kits to be able to go the South Korea route and test everybody and quarantine the positives. It's way too late for that now.

Now we watch the #s go up and bank that shutting things down for a few weeks will get us to a widespread treatment before our hospitals are completely overrun with serious cases.

Where are you seeing this part? I don't see anything about that on any of the articles I've found. It just says he'd been sick for a few weeks.
