So, as a teacher, you go from teaching 6 periods a day to teaching one or 2. As a parent, you go from teaching zero to over 20. Every one of them sends me an email every day.

I have spent the past week developing brand new content and learning how to use all new (to me anyway) technology pieces so that my physics students can continue to move forward with their education. Aside from having to adjust to teaching from home, my biggest concern is for the mental and emotional well-being of my students and their families during this stressful time.

Thanks for posting this and bringing a smile to my face.

I don't think teachers are complaining about teaching. It is just an adjustment to learning the new platforms and how best to reach their students. And nobody is saying this isn't tough on the parents.

We started this week with an abbreviated schedule to get used to things. Beginning Monday we will follow our normal schedule. Gonna be interesting.

You sound like a teacher I would like my kids to have.

No, ours have all been fine. But they do need to remember that once they find their routine, they will only need to teach one class of it per day. They will have more time, and it will be easy to fall into "assistant pastor syndrome." This is what I call it when the main pastor is away, and the assistant gets one chance to preach and tries to tell you everything he's ever learned. Remember, the kids still have 6 or 7 classes.
