I have a client and good friend who worked in the Bush administration. In fact he was appointed by Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to an administrative position I won't disclose.
He called me this morning and said he wanted to give me a heads up that he just heard from a government source all states are deploying their national guard, and once they are strategically positioned in each city to minimize looting, there is going to be a nationwide shutdown for at least two weeks, likely by Monday. He did not know if that meant mandatory house arrest, or that people can still move about but cannot go to work or congregate in public (with exceptions for medical facilities, banks, grocery stores, etc.), but he seems confident this is going to happen. I know he had or still has some level of government clearance, and he knows people who are active in Trump's administration.
I have not taken this situation all that seriously (as my post history probably confirms) until he called me this morning. Could he be full of ***** I guess he could, or the plans could change, but I trust this guy and I don't know why he would have bothered calling me about this if it wasn't a legit possibility.
