These folks did exit the US at the time when they knew it was going to spread rapidly. Now they are stuck in foreign countries ( not that I would mind being stuck in Mazatln at a beach resort) and trying to get home.

Edit to say that the US Air Force has been deploying C-130s to transport stranded folks in Morocco, Central and South America to get them home.

Here in Guatemala the embassy is trying to put together some charter flights to get Americans out. I know a group of tourists that got trapped and took and Uber to the Mexican border. After crossing over, they were able to get a flight to the states from Southern Mexico.

The international airport here is shut down. Tomorrow begins a mandatory 4pm to 4am curfew. Only pharmacies and grocery stores open at the moment. Im trying to decide if I want to ride it out here or try to get on an embassy arranged flight (if they actually happen).

I am torn. I feel sorry for people not able to return, but I also know that we were in Thailand and took the time to make a two hour call to change our flights to return a week early so we weren't stuck there. You have to be aware while traveling

I would have loved to be stuck in Thailand, just hide out in Chang Mai in a dirt cheap monthly rental
