Synopsis of what I have learned:

1) No to NSAIDs like Advil/Motrin/Ibuprofen and Aleve.
2) Yes to Acetaminophen/Tylenol.
3) Yes to zinc.

1) What about Aspirin? I'm on 325mg per day as a blood thinner. Should I be concerned
2) What is the amount of zinc an adult should take? Airborne has zinc in it. Is that enough?
3) What about elderberry/sambucol? I have heard that it can help with the flu so would it be over doing it or is that just a bunch of hogwash?

Sidebar - I believe in science and modern medicine but if Modern Medicine tells me to do a homeopathic or whatever that has been found to be legit.. I'm all in.

No to Acetaminophen, it's an NSAID. How did my brain switch Acetaminophen with Naproxen Sodium

Tylenol seems to be the recommended fever treatment.

Zinc and vitamin C seems to be recommended too.

1) You shouldn't stop taking your aspirin. The risk of you contracting COVID-19 is still much less than the risk of you developing a potentially fatal blood clot (especially if you have a Hx of CV disease).

2) What is the amount of zinc an adult should take? Airborne has zinc in it. Is that enough?

Usually zinc supplementation is not necessary and you should be able to get most of your daily requirement via diet. However, if you choose to use Zinc, 50 mg or less a day should be more than enough but your GI tract may not tolerate that dose. It has shown some benefit in reducing the severity and duration of cold symptoms if started within 24 hours prior to the onset.

3) What about elderberry/sambucol? I have heard that it can help with the flu so would it be over doing it or is that just a bunch of hogwash?

The jury is still out on elderberry. Maybe it helps? Maybe it doesn't? The placebo effect can be just as powerful.

Edit: see TexAgs disclaimer. Make sure to consult what th your pcp or cardiologist.

Incorrect. Tylenol is a brand name for acetaminophen. Acetaminophen is not an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug).

Would never think of not taking it. Just wasn't sure if there were a better med for me.

I'm not to worried because we have already self quarantined to be honest.

it's just My husband and I, we are both over 40 and our son is under 6.

We can't afford to catch this.
