I would expect a flattening or deceleration. The fact of the matter remains X% of your population is going to get the disease. X% of the population is going to die and X% will be hospitalized but recover.
You cannot tell me that they have just all the sudden stopped 1 billion people from getting the disease. Italy has surpassed their death count. Italy has a fraction of OUR population. We're going to surpass Italy strictly because of statistics.
No their numbers are not justified by the math. They haven't even come close to reaching enough herd immunity to justify .000081% of their population catching this. That doesn't even justify hospitalization numbers. They literally reported only 46 new cases yesterday.
There is absolutely nothing reliable about their numbers. If China's numbers were representative of what happens after strict quarantine measures Italy's numbers would have been at worst 8,000. Remember, at one point China was hiding this and claiming that there was no human to human transmission. They had a whistle blower doctor that.
I think they know they F*d up and new that they had to let the world know so we could act. I think that they knew if they didn't speak up about their lack of control over the situation then they were about to be blow out of the water.
Can you imagine if the whole world caught this and China reported nothing and kept trying to sweep it under the rug? You're talking about leaders of about 5 billion people ready to blow their SH!% away.
You're also talking about potentially killing 15 milion people without addressing it and hiding it.... You can damned well believe there would be a revolt supported by European and American countries.
