I told mine to not come until further notice. I'm paying for the days she can't come.

My parents are also paying theirs not to come. She is the only one working in her family due to her husband's health but they love her so they don't want to lose her.

They are retired and normally spend a chunk of the year travelling and still pay her to come just to sweep up the dead critters and dust.

Mine are coming as normal but they have been losing clients

Thank you and everyone else for all of the good bull replies. This is only the third time our housekeeper was scheduled to clean for us but we had a deal and we'll stick to it.

Ours asked today if she should come tomorrow. We said that we would not have her clean, but that we wanted to pay her anyway, since it has nothing to do with her.

She said 'no thanks'. I was worried there was a translation problem, so I reiterated that I wanted to pay her. She really doesn't want money if she's not working.

I have to respect that but will still pay her double next time.

We are paying ours not to show up. We don't want her concerned and mainly we don't know how many other houses she cleans or whose house she's been in and out of. We also want her to keep making her income.

Just trying to allow them opportunity to follow the shelter in place order where pool and gardeners are also not essential. I don't want to be asked to break the law nor except others to do so.

Pool service actually is essential. My company emailed me last night with details letting me know they would continue to service our pool. I am in Galveston County so not sure everyone's shelter in place rules are the same.

In Northern California it specifies essential business. Regardless, I don't expect people who provide me services to do anything that makes them uncomfortable. I will pay and give them the option to do what they are comfortable doing. If this lasts two months, it's 500 for both pool and gardener. It's an individual choice I feel good about.
