I was laid off last Thursday and haven't been successful in applying for unemployment online thus far. Has anyone here successfully filed recently?
I can get up to the point where I enter my PIN and the site says I have to call. I've called several dozen times today and was unable to get through. The system is flooded at the moment.hbc07 said:
What is the problem? Will the site load? Will it not submit your info?
Doesn't sound like a fixable problem then. I hope you're able to get through.Marauder Blue 6 said:I can get up to the point where I enter my PIN and the site says I have to call. I've called several dozen times today and was unable to get through. The system is flooded at the moment.hbc07 said:

Was "separated "from my company last week. Got some severance but it will run out in May. Can I start the process now or do I need to wait. Maybe unemployment check will help cover COBRA.
Thank you for your sentiments. It's tough to stay positive but I know it will pass. It just feels like a perfect storm. I was laid off from my first job out of school in July 2001 and moved back to Houston a week after 9/11. A month later, Enron hit. It took a long time to find something good after that.Moxley said:
Don't have advice for you in terms of the website, but sorry to hear that. Keep your head up. I've been out of work before, and it sucks. I know it's scary not knowing the future. You have to find ways to stay positive and realize that this is a season that is temporary. We're going to get this turned around.
Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of health care workers and researchers around the US and world are working tirelessly on this. We have taken a few punches from this virus but it and we both know we will eventually kick it's ass. We don't know the exact time frame in which that will occur, but it WILL happen. We WILL be back going again soon.
This gives me hope. Do you call which number you called on Saturday and were able to reach someone? I've been trying 800-939-6631 mostly but I've also been trying 877-915-6400 about 1/3 as much.2003_Aggie said:
I finally got thru online after a week of steady effort multiple times a day. Randomly got thru early this past Saturday morning. Every time I called I got the same "we are experiencing extreme call volume, please try our online options" and then it hung up on me. Try your best to remain calm and keep at it...most of all, Good luck.
