The doctor tag is fine as long as everyone maintains a sense of perspective. Doctors on here are exchanging information as we all attempt to battle this. Any opinion offered is an informed opinion but nonetheless an opinion. There are differences of opinion on simple things such as therapeutics. As you can see some doctors would prefer to wait for randomized clinical trials while others would use preliminary data from other countries while we concurrently run trials. Also consider we all speak from different areas of expertise and experience. Researchers and academic MD's are completely different than clinical MD's.

Doctors outside of their area of expertise should rarely opine on an issue as serious as this. Giving them added credibility without a CV to support assertions of authority is a questionable move.
but its much better than having them blend in with carol who has an etsy store and presents herself as an expert.

We will pin after will. I've found that a pinned item can be over looked pretty easily. Organic interaction as an unpinned topic gets really good traction. Move to pinned after that subsides.

The discussion among the docs including myself has been very enlightening and few are overstepping their realm of expertise. No one is looking for "credibility." Most are in fields that are on front lines. I am pulm/cc. Have seen ID, IM, hospitalists etc. Dont think plastic surgeons are opining on threads. LOL
I guess what most people don't understand is that most MD's (unless they are specialist and a topic is directly in their wheelhouse) research medical documents/clinical studies to learn more about various diseases and treatments around the world like many others in the medical and/or science realm.
This is the same mode of operation for many research scientist, pharmacists, academia, etc. You will find that the actual understanding of this virus crosses many specialties and requires each of them to provide their input in order to effectively battle this virus.

Dermdoc and kiddoc aren't going to giving hard core CV advice. They are professionals.

Well, some of us like the bling. We don't want to display just the minimum pieces of flair.
I take most of the posts as satire.
I truly do not mind the Doctors getting recognized but the only issue in situations like this is that doctors should not be viewed as the only sources with validity to their comments/posts
