Good to see 18 wheelers going down the roads. With the virus spreading more and more, how long before we dont see supplies hitting the stores?

A very small percentage will have already stopped running. I wouldn't expect and appreciable amount to stop. Truckers will get it but not all at once

Why would trucks stop? A driver can easily socially distance.

Our drivers back up to our docks, don't get out of the truck, get loaded, drive to the customer, they get received, all never getting out of the truck or directly interacting with anyone.

If anything, they're about the safest in the American workforce.

Now is a great time to really test out auto driving fleets.

Yeah, I think we'd be much more likely to see supply line staffing problems at the actual production, packaging, or retail distribution levels where employees almost must work in closer proximity to one another.

I don't think it would necessarily be about the truckers getting it. I think the problem would be if the virus became so rampant that most of their families got it and they wanted to be with them so they stayed home and then it snowballed from there. Still pretty unlikely at this point but with this virus you never know.

The industry as a whole is hyper aware of driver safety. The two biggest points of weakness are at the warehouse level and at truck/rest stops.

Brother -in-law drives trucks. No cross country ... drives less than 100 mile radius. They don't even allow them out of the cab at either terminal.

If anything threatened the trucking of supplies in the country, the national guard would quickly address that threat.

I rarely support the idea of federal intervention in private markets, but this would be an exception. If the food supply faulters, all hell breaks loose.
