The Antibody test is the only thing that will return normalcy

it seems there are a lot of people who are either unwilling or mostly unable to get tested with either mild or asymptomatic cases of this.

Meanwhile, lets say that a significant portion of the population either has it now or has already had it - but not a confirmed positive.

Without knowing FOR SURE even though these people are essentially safe now, they are still hunkered down, not knowing of they have had this crap yet or not. (Likely they have, but not willing to bet grandma's life on it)

The rapid test wont help them. If we could get the antibody test going like the brits are trying to do, it seems like this would free up a significant portion of the population to get back to life as normal.

It just seems like once the rapid is FINALLY mass produced enough for even the mild and asymptomatic-but-exposed-to-others testers to get them on demand, we may be already passed the peak of this, and a lot of already recovered yet never were able to get a positive test people will be sitting in the dark wondering.

We are once again shooting at a moving target with testing to beat this, and we are shooting for where the target is now instead of where it will be when the shot lands.

Adequate health care resources including PPE and hopefully a "tamiflu" like drug regimen that lessens the severity are also needed.

Antibody tests are difficult to develop because it is a tiny amount of a handful of antibodies in a serum sample you really want a perfect result for with absolutely no false positives and very little false negatives.

I'm pretty sure the manufacturers and the COVID-19 task force/CDC etc. are well aware this would be a wonderful thing to have widely available yesterday.

Very interesting. The prophylaxis component is needed and the timing looks pretty good as well.

I think it's faulty logic to assume "most" have already had this and were either asymptomatic or suffered mild symptoms. That doesn't jive with the numbers of sick and dying increasing every day.
