Antibody testing will be the way back to normalcy ... but ONLY if we become sure that people gain long-term immunity post-infection.

No. Can't remember where I read it but there have been instances of people recovering and then having a relapse weeks to a month later (though less severe). In general that seems to be uncommon but there hasn't been enough time to know how long immunity may last anyway.

One article said that they have identified eight variants of the virus so far and there are likely many more variants that have yet to be mapped. It isn't a given that developing immunity to one variant would apply to the other variants.

I don't think any of those actually fully recovered. They still had the virus in them and relapsed. I think the key is people who have actually beat it and got rid of it.
