I've got to believe that a painters mask that is used to keep fumes (like lacquer)out of your lungs would be really effective on keeping the virus out also? Any thoughts?

Yes. That is what some are wearing at our shop. P95, last 40 hours or 30 days. More comfortable and you look like a boss.

Next time I go the store I'm thinking about wearing mine. Kind of for fun.

Looks extra stylish with an AR15 slung across your back.

My wife (physician) and I (optometrist) have been wearing a similar model when going to crowded places (ex grocery store). We use the P100 filter. We get a few weird looks, but it doesn't bother us. You just have to make sure it fits well. There are videos demonstrating how to test for air leaks. My wife's hospital also does a "lavender test" where they spray lavender in the room. If you can smell the lavender, the fit is no good.

Based on your posting history I am not sure if you are genuinely curious and trying to make do with what you have on hand or if you are trolling. I think I have my Frisco posters straight

No. I have some N95 masks and tried one on. I didn't like it and I don't think I need to wear a mask right now, but if we are hit hard then yes, I am curious and assumed it would would better than the paper ones.. This was not a trolling question at all.

Just because I am more worried about the financial impact and think that we might be overplaying this crisis doesn't mean that I can't prepare for the "what if".
