I am curious what the dorms are like right now. Are there still students living on campus? Are any dining halls open? Have they rearranged any students or closed particular dorms?

A little over a week ago, admin sent out an email urging on campus students to go back to their hometowns before the shelter in place started. Dorms are pretty cleared out by now, with nearly every freshmen that went home just saving themselves time and moving out. I'm at U Centre and every day more and more people leave. It's a ghost town out here.

But good luck finding toilet paper or a thermometer. People will drive from El Paso to take those from you.

And I'm pretty sure dining halls are open, but it's more of a gradeschool "lunch lady will serve you" type deal. That was after they sent the email urging freshmen to head back. Not sure if anything's changed.

My daughter got an email the other day saying they closed the commons dining hall. I think that leaves just Sbisa open, and pretty sure it is all to go.

She also commented on the amount of trash produced, as everything ends up in its own container, so you walk out with 3-4 containers.

She came home just before the shelter in place, so not really sure on what it is like now.

There was a final exodus after the shelter in place. My daughter and all of her friends went home the next day. Heading up this weekend to get the las items.

Any idea what the quad is like now?

Was up there yesterday and over the last couple of weeks.

Saw a lot of cars on the outside of the quad last week, so I assume they mostly moved out. Saw a group of 5-6 fish walking around yesterday, so I know there are still some around.

More ghostly than summer and holidays. Almost reminds me of Christmas Eve...that is usually when I see the least amount of people around campus.

Lots of students moved out over the past 2 weeks (would check my mail and see them parked across the post office loading up)

Still, I ride my bike on campus around 6-7pm, every couple of days. I see over 50 students mingling around the underground dinning area and sitting outside for lunch or dinner.

Don't know how many are still on campus, but I do see them in the food areas.

MSC still open.

Engineering Sector is ghostly as well.

ANIN is still haunted...I'm sure.

Research/lab work is still considered essential as long as you maintain 6ft+ and don't have groups of 10 or more. And you're only supposed to go if it's something that can't be done from a distance. I'm at a point in my research where everything is hands on so I have to go. I go to the lab almost everyday M-F and see anywhere from 0-2 other people while there (same 2 people just depends on if they're there or not). The lab isn't on main campus although I went to my office on main campus to pick up some things I might need before the shelter in place and it was ghost town dead.

Driving home from the lab is pretty weird because evening rush hour looks like 6 AM on a summer day traffic wise. Despite the fact that there's zero traffic I still manage to hit most red lights on University, and there's still someone driving 15mph under the speed limit in the left lane for no reason so things are normal in that regard.
