I didn't want to step on BallerStaf's thread, but I have some questions for the local experts.

First, I'm 35 with no known pre-existing conditions. Healthy. Not over weight.

I travel a ton for work. I was in the UK in late January, and I was sick with some kind of respiratory virus in early February (1 week after returning). Tested negative for flu and strep. Felt better after 2 days but had a cough for about 2 weeks, and my wife, kids, and parents all seemed to catch something similar immediately after. Nobody serious.

Fast forward... I was in Vail the first week of March and then in Seattle the second week of March. I've been home in Dallas ever since. But 2.5 weeks ago I had a weird sensation in my chest for a few days...cold burning. No cough, but definitely a shortness of breath. No fever. But now, over the past few days, I have had an intermittent pain in my chest, right under my sternum. Again, zero cough. I haven't tried to exert myself, but I can tell my breathing is getting better. Sometimes, my heart rate feels a bit out of whack, but it never sustains an elevated rate.

Sorry for the rambling.

Do I need to be worried? Does this sound like Myocarditis from COVID? Anything I can do to remedy at home with otc drugs?

Don't be an idiot. It's not that easy to simply run down to the doctor's office right now. This forum was established for this kind of discussion and doctors have been given a tag/verified so that we can discern which advice is trustworthy and credible. There's nothing wrong with the OP coming here to get information that will determine next steps.

TexAgs needs to corner the old Ag telehealth market and charge folks to ask these questions and have one of our physicians give them a call.

Except people should know better than to solicit medical advice from physicians on an Aggie forum website

Yeah I'm an idiot for suggesting that a guy who thinks he has a corona related heart condition contact his doctor for medical advice instead of the internet.

Thank you. I should have prefaced with the fact that I feel completely healthy other than the intermittent burning in my chest. Based on the stories I've read here, I likely would not even be a candidate for testing or treatment if I tried to see a doc.

Why? We've all seen the legal disclaimer and understand what it means. What's wrong with coming here for some information before jumping through hoops to get an appointment?

They can't diagnose you or give any real meaningful advice over a thread with really incomplete information. Geez us H T Christmas.

Except that this isn't simply the "internet." It's an established forum during a time of crisis with verified physicians that will sometimes answer pertinent questions.

And who is to say he isn't going to follow up with his doctor? Perhaps he came here for information first. I don't know why I'm explaining this to you. Let's just agree to disagree.

I've seen Reveille, Marcus, and many others give plenty of helpful information and answers to those seeking them. I don't know why I'm arguing with you, either. Have a good evening.

We're seeing positives from people who didn't come in from cough or shortness of breath, simply chest pain, no fever. It can even mimic a STEMI on a 12-lead. We're taking full PPE precautions for chest pain patients now, whereas a few months ago you'd bee laughed at for that.

Hell, I heard a story about a guy who came in for a broken arm and they just happened to do a chest X-ray to get his shoulder and clavicle and his lungs looked horrible. Tested positive. Only complaint was the pain from the humorous fx.

Do with that what you will.

Assume you are infected and quarantine for 10-14 days. Welcome to the suck

Nowhere near the travel history as you but I've had the same feeling in my sternum for about 8 days now... I've chalked it up to stress, mainly because I really don't want to have to go anywhere near a doctor's office right now.

My critical care pulmonologist talked with me on a phone about my concerns about COVAID19.

Big thing I learned is if I take a COVID19 test and it comes with it a negative result don't trust it. Wait 24-48hrs and get a second test.

Yep, this is one of my main anxiety symptoms. Only dealt with it twice: during/after Harvey and throughout this covid period. Worth getting checked out if it's causing any actual issues, but you'd be surprised what a good dose of stress can do to your body.

Had something similar happen to me while I was in travel. Soar throat, no fever, but had a tightness in my chest. Wouldn't call it painful, but was tender/uncomfortable around my sternum. My muscles fatigued more quickly when exercising. Disappeared a few days later.
