Apparently there is more, or less, to them than meets the eye: Who Knew?

People who do not use them regularly for work do not know the correct procedures for PPE usage just like masks. Nothing new in that article.

That article is full of misinformation just like the CDC saying there's no reason to wear masks in the general public.

The world would be better served, especially during a pandemic, by people taking the time to properly educate the population on correct usage procedures for PPE rather than saying you shouldn't use it.

Without the proper procedures for donning and doffing PPE they will likely lead to a sense of false security.

PPE works but you can't use it in place of your brain.

I agree that's why time should be spent educating rather than dismissing the option to provide another layer of protection a wide swath of the population.

I used to will in a bio chem lab and went through about 60+ pairs a week. There is no way I would have enough gloves to last this long. I can't imagine many people are sitting on a couple of cases right now

The vast majority of people wearing gloves are wasting their time money and resources

Only 60 pairs a week? When I'm actively working in lab I go through 100+pairs/week although we are told to replace thin nitrile gloves once they come into contact with chemicals.

We did a training exercise doffing gloves after touching melted chocolate. You really learn how easy it is to contaminate ones self.
