This is interesting but I will definitely be waiting before I fully accept this. Just look at all the weight loss drugs of the late 90's early 00's a few years after they were released the radios were filled with commercials from layers asking if you had been exposed/taken this or that. Hell even asbestos and benzene used to be thought safe.
Are you really comparing this to drugs that you ingest (like ephedrine)?

They first do studies on effectiveness. Then they will confirm with safety studies.

We've come a long way since the times you're talking about. Asbestos hasn't been approved for use since 1989, man. The world has had an advancement or two or ten since then.

Yes, my response was mostly a hyperbole but I have seen a bunch of studies proved wrong over the years and will not be rushing to install far-UVC lights in my house. I agree it does look promising but I stand by my assertion, and will be waiting until science has had done its due diligence on this technology.

"We saw we can kill 99% of the virus with a very low dose of far-UVC light," Brenner said.

Lamps using far-UVC light are currently in production and waiting for Food and Drug Administration approval. Brenner envisions them being used in public places like airports and train stations, as well as in hospitals and schools.
"Right now there is no real approach to trying to reduce the amount of viruses in a room where people are and somebody sneezes and coughs," he said. "If you could actually decontaminate the air around you pretty quickly, that would be a real plus."

I guess this is why I never heard of any outbreaks originating at raves.
