It would have happened anyway, either days or a week later.

As a Mavs/Rangers fan, I hate it for my teams. Luka/Porzingis were starting to really gel together, and I had planned to check out the new ballpark several times this summer.

You are probably right. It was just a moment where panic kind of set in amongst the masses and decisions were made in short order. Just a weird event in a very weird last couple of months.

He just proves how irrelevant and useless pro sports are in our daily lives.
I don't think this proves that at all. Hell, mental health is going to become a real issue soon. Yes, most of that is a lack of jobs, but also adding to that losing certain hobbies. Many, many more people would disagree with you here. Entertainment value is of utmost importance in a society to keep a high morale, and if this is someone's biggest entertainment value, who are you to say it's useless?

Not very many NBA guys got it and the ones who did had very mild symptoms.

This is a weird statement considering like 10-20% of them got it. WAY more than that typical population.
This is an interesting one.... NBA players are one of a few population sets that got 100% tested. It could be that the fact they were so close to each other lead to the higher positives or it could be another piece of data that shows this thing is in way more people than expected. Remember they were tested early march so it looked like an even bigger skew then. Combine that with the outcomes for this young/healthy population set and it's an argument for more aggressive openings for some people. I'm not advocating this but it's a good question to see why the NBA was higher.

This is completely true. Which is why I thought it was weird soup nazi said not that many got it, because the opposite was true.

The best thing the Gobert/NBA event did was trigger other events to close which thankfully did. Rodeo, SXSW, etc. were closed with much gnashing of teeth but now I don't think there is much second guessing those decisions.

While there have been like 7 or 9 NBA players to publically hae tested positive, apparently there are more that have which have not been made positive according to Adam Silver. Also, the mother of Karl Anthony-Towns died of COVID, so that's hit the NBA family hard.
