Live in Salt Lake and it's spring so the weather is gorgeous
Multiple hikes per week
Working from home
Drinking beer on the front porch
Walks/runs with the dog and SO
Naps
Cooking
Practicing my Spanish skills
Car adventures
Catching up on Netflix/Amazon series

There are so many people in terrible situations, and I am so fortunate to not be one of them and fully realize that. It's my responsibility to not complain at all and enjoy the hell out of this opportunity for some downtime and self care.

Introvert here.
This is not an introvert's dream.
Having extroverted kids and an extroverted wife next to your side every waking hour and talking your head off is not OK.
I go on long drives just to be by myself and listen to music.

I am definitely spending more time with the kids, but it is not quality time.
It is usually high tension time trying to also be their teacher in between trying to do my regular 60 hour a week job.
I think when I was away during the day, I came home and spent more focused, quality time with them.

This is almost exactly me. Glad to hear someone else in the same boat, not necessarily "enjoying" their extended vaca at home. Happy for those that are though. I'm working from home, at a desk, for the first time in my life. Sitting down all freakin' day! (I'm an outside sales lifer, extroverted in day, introvert at nights/weekend ...as I've gotten older) My time with my kids isn't that great, as my joy was them telling me about school, their extra-curriculars, their plans, etc. That's all gone. And they're not all choked up about staying home either. They don't have much to say, other than what they're going to make for lunch, etc.

But it's not all bad, once I get past my developing carpal tunnel in my hands I'll be OK.

Spending time with the wife and kids when I can (less than I'd like to unfortunately)

The lack of outpatient clinic and meetings in the mornings has allowed to get back into working out regularly without having to get up at 4 AM which is nice

I'm eating better than I have in years

I feel like a bit of the personal side of medicine has been brought back. The camaraderie between healthcare workers and emotional connection with patients and families has definitely increased.

A few personal positives from this otherwise ****ty situation

Working from home since 3/17. Wife's Vet hospital has go e to 3/4 day shifts so I do all the grocery shopping these days. More dog walks. Streaming Masses even though my church is a mile away and I can hear the bells. Have lost weight because I don't snack as much during the day (doesn't make sense), work out a bit longer, drink much more. Zoom HHs with co-workers and Zoom brunches with friends. Have had impromptu driveway gatherings. Just want my toes in the sand, anywhere at this point. Grateful I still have a job and health.

Keep up the good fight Ag! And as an old doc the best part of medicine is the personal side and camaraderie. A lot of my patients come in just to see pictures of my grandkid and check on me and my family.

I could have written this myself.

I go on hour-long bike rides every other day to exercise, be alone, immerse into a podcast, and get a change of scenery. I feel like I'm living bike ride to bike ride lately.

I have done a couple home projects. Built a bike rack for my truck. Built a book shelf.

Not really much of a change for me...I was using this to stay sane before the 'ronademic.

And no, I don't have a drinking problem. I'm very good at it, actually. A real pro.

Don't watch any news, try to spend less time on TexAgs COVID board, or browsing any articles about COVID. Because the non-stop COVID, COVID, COVID endless drum beat 24 hours per day, 7 days a week after several weeks finally began to burn me out. Its the biggest topic everywhere dominating every conversation, but I've found that following the slow, indeterministic tedious progress of a pandemic can drive one insane. So, enough of that. Just a couple of quick glances at this board and Google the latest numbers each evening on WorldOMeter site, and that is about it now on my COVID coverage participation.

This was my cure for my extreme covid anxiety. Crazy how overexposure to news about a virus was affecting me more than the virus itself. When I realized that, I backed way down on news and forums. A few glances per day to get the latest, then move on.

Yep. Thank God my daughter's 25 and not 5. Can't imagine keeping a rug-rat occupied during a time like this.

I don't disagree with this. It is mentally draining. I have obviously been on here alot but find myself less, and reading less about it. Treating the endless number of patients with it is very fatiguing. I was on call yesterday and was hoping to avoid a sick one. But, I got a terribly ill COVID-19 man last night that sadly probably won't make it.

I haven't watched a single news source on television in close to a month now. It was doing me absolutely zero good from a sanity perspective.

This forum used to be a great place to have solid, more rational discussions about the issue. You still can, but the background noise is sure getting louder here though.

Last Friday Ms SPF250 and I "hosted" a few neighbors to a socially distant wine in the driveway event. We've all been home, but infrequently seen, so it was good to catch up at a distance of six feet.

After a failed attempt with the 42 app last week, MyAgBros and I held a 42 happy hour spread over 800 miles last night. We used some excess security cameras with video feeds assigned to each player. Zoom for audio. One player had to shake, pull and play for each based on verbal instructions. Not ideal but it got the job done. There was a righteous beat down applied, with the final score 7-2 and 7-2. Yours truly lost Back In The Box to close it out. Rematch scheduled for next week.

What are the rest of you doing to stay sane?

Sadly, I was on the wrong side of that beatdown from 800 miles away.

But damn it was great to play 42 with MyAgBros. We have been playing 42 together for right at 40 years; and drinking a few adult beverages in the process made for a great evening (notwithstanding the beatdown).

Rematch next week SPF250!!

Despite protests, we were able to keep our country club semi-functional. Member carts only, 1 person to a cart (unless family), no non-member golf, 4somes max with only 2 people on the tee box, no scramble formats, social distancing at all times, leave the pin in the hole, no inside drinking or eating, no chairs outside and stay 6' apart.......

The beach is still open, but the weather/surf has sucked for fishing.

Reading and yard work.

Wife and I went back to work a couple weeks ago after quarantining two weeks since we were in Belize the week prior. So that takes care of the week days for us, but not our 14 yr old. He works out a couple times a day, does some yard and house chores, etc. and plays a lot of video games with his buddies during the week, online of course.

On Friday night we have "take out food night", and watch a movie if we can all stay up. Saturday is day stuff around the house and decon groceries, etc. after the grocery run, followed by BBQ or Grill day for dinner and watch another movie as a family. Sunday is Big Cook Day where we cook up a big, good wholesome family dinner (grill if lucky) to eat and have leftovers during the week.

Of course on Friday and Saturday evenings I have a nice cigar and cocktails with the wife on the back patio/deck.

One thing we have incorporated for outside entertainment is a yard game called Jarts (also known as yard darts). The real Jarts from back in the 70s/early 80s, the kind that were banned for sale back then. It really brings back memories and is more challenging than cornhole, and fun for us three.

In a weird way, we have turned today's time into what we grew up with back in the late 70s/80s when times were much more simple and spent around the house instead of going out to eat a couple times a weekend to a grill or bar and grill which would have been like Robin Leach was dragging you around.

One thing you can read from this is that many are staying more active than likely in their normal life. I hope if one thing comes from this is that America stays more active and outdoors, but I have little doubts we'll go back to our fast food, bars, restaurants the second we can.
Agree. I see so many people out walking and running now to a point that between 4:30 and 7pm there can be stretches where the sidewalks are full of people. It's great to see people being active, many that look like they are just starting their fitness journey. Let's hope people keep it up.

We live in the un-incorporated county on over an acre and I rarely go much of anywhere outside of work anyway. Only big downside is we have been unable to really travel and take a weekend getaway trip. We've done a little more work around the place, cleaning up/organizing the shed, made changes to the chicken coop, etc. We go take a 30min-1 hour walk as a family every evening after dinner. Kids go out into the yard to hunt crawdads, and we have a new disc golf set up in the yard.

Other than that, it's life as usual out here in the country.

Same here. I live in the Avenues and take walks with my wife. We are getting our garden beds ready for a fantastic summer and would be happy if we didn't have company for another month. Oh, and we order out from Sugarhouse BBQ and Mazza

Been working from home a few days a week for the last 15 years. Just added the other days to it around March 5. So I am well settled into a routine of taking a shower around 1PM at lunch. LOL

We've hit the pond for a few bass, painted two bedrooms we had been putting off, and done some other stuff around the place. I learned how to cut my own hair last night, and had my A&M Sophmore daughter help me with parts I couldn't reach etc. (Left handed cutting while looking in the mirror is no bueno!)

Need to get to POC Saturday or Sunday to run our boat that has been in storage since Christmas timeframe. I think we will make a day trip out of it, and come back that night. It's rough to do that from Round Rock, but the boat needs it. I could also use a few hours on the water and the smell of salt air.

Overall, no complaints. I am not sick, nor is anyone I love. So we will endure and we will survive. God is good!

And....like dermdoc said, I miss Aggie baseball and church from home online is very odd.
