It's why people used to purposely make sure their kids got chicken pox when one of their friends kids got it. It's a mild disease for kids and a serious disease for adults

I posted something similar on politics board about two months ago and got blasted about chicken pox before a vaccine. Good to see people coming around.

Eh, I'd like some kind of treatment if possible, as long as the cost to the economy isn't greater. Our medical supply chains are still recovering, docs and nurses have been working like crazy for a couple months and could use a little reprieve, etc.

Docs and Nurses have been working like crazy??

Where??

Most health systems I'm aware of have been half empty, staff furloughed and clinics half closed..

I don't doubt that at all depending on region. My close friends in the medical field happen to be in some of the harder hit areas, so that's my point of reference.

Thats handful of hospitals maybe in Bronx and possibly New Orleans. I'm confident that the rest of the US health system ICU volume was dismal at best.

With a significant deaths coming from Nursing homes and SNF.

Where is this hot spot?

Living in hotel tells me this nurse is a traveler... And nurse travelers job market tanked.

I had the shingles in the ninth grade. Started feeling sick on Tuesday. Went to school through Thursday. I tried to get to school on Friday, but was so sick I could not move. By mid day Saturday I was over it and was moving around a lot. A brief case. But I was very sick and horrible on Friday.

Couldn't they be nurses trying to stay away from their families in an effort to not infect them in case they come down with covid-19?

In contacting parents for my high school students I had one first responder paramedic and two nurses who said they had sent children to stay with nearby grandparents because they were working directly with Covid in the case of the nurses and responding to covid emergency transports for the paramedic. Add to that one of my students has an ICU nurse mom. Student said she missed hugs from her mom. Mom is staying home, but has a no close contact and is self isolating inside the home.

Just because it is not a tough time for me, I can stay home with few issues, that does not mean it is not a touch time for many who might work where they are exposed to not only the virus, but a high viral load of the virus.
