I have not read every one of Dr. Rev's posts, but I do remember that he was on the zinc ionophore train early. Due to his writings, I purchased zinc and green tea a while ago.

With all the reporting on the lack of efficacy of HCL, I was curious how many of the tests had looked at the use of HCL with zinc. I could only find 1 study that looked at the efficacy of zinc+HCL vs HCL without zinc.

This study has flaws as it is a retrospective analysis, among other issues (not through the review process, etc.). However, my quick read of the data is that the group with zinc had a ~50% decrease in the need for invasive ventilation and a ~40% decrease in the need for ICU care. (Tables 3 and 4)

Are there any other studies showing this or is this study massively flawed due to the change in standard of care during the window of analysis?

Practitioners, who do not have the time or money to conduct a clinical trial, are observing incredible results in their patients.

I thought we needed another thread on this...

A drug candidate is a hell of a thing to make into a political football. Almost all drug candidates fail. So there will be zero surprise if this one does too.

Just wait for the trial results and don't waste the energy arguing over something that is literally unknowable until the experiment is done.

I would say the cornerstone of the scientific method is asking the right questions. Plenty of useless, reproducible science out there.

There is a meta analysis that just came out that wasn't very promising but the data was heavily weighted from the Italian study.
