KidDoc said:Yeah even child to adult appears to be rare. That is based on current data and may prove to not be true with time. The lack of child to child spread and child to parent spread is a very confusing aspect of this virus that is not consistent with most respiratory pathogens.AgsMyDude said:KidDoc said:Your child would be a tertiary contact. For some reason it seems like children do not spread COVID well. If your child started to show symptoms I would get the child tested but the odds of it passing from the + mother to her child is high-- but child to child seems to be rare based on current data.AgsMyDude said:
Doc, just found out a Mom from one of the kids at daycare had her test taken Thursday and came back positive. Worth seeking out a test now?
Nobody knows why.
Thanks! What about from child to adult? I guess my worry is Mother - > child - > day care provider (just 1 person) -> our child.
Provider has been very proactive. Doorstep drop-off, kids must chance shoes before entering, etc.
Now parent to child is well documented and appears to be common.
Thanks again for the insight here!
The mom had pretty mild symptoms. Fatigue, SOB, etc but never got really bad. Her husband and child both tested negative a few days after the Mom was +. Daycare provider and her family all negative. Wild how nobody else got it.
