I've tried to get lined up with CVS for days and no luck. We're scheduled to leave town this weekend and I would like to get tested. Which providers in Dallas offer the quick response testing?

Do you have symptoms? If so, you probably need to stay home and isolate if you can't find rapid results. My daughters 2 day results took 12.

Editted to say after reading your other thread about where to seek treatment I sure hope you do the right thing rather then contribute to the problem.

If you are seeking treatment you likely believe you have it. If you believe you have it, you should stay home. The problem I am obviously referring to is spread.

so don't get tested or seek treatment?

I got my results from one of the Dallas county testing sites in 24 hours about two weeks ago. I had to wait in line for about 3 hours though.

I think he is pretty clear. If you even think you have it, stay the **** at home unless you are going to get tested or treated.

There is nowhere in DFW that is consistently providing "rapid" test results, without a long, inconvenient wait and/or a consultation copay (urgent care centers). Most places take 3-5 business days, closer to 5, to get your rapid results. One good option is Abbott Pixel which is an at home test. You order the kit day one, test yourself day two, get results day three or four. Oh, and it's actually free, unlike many of the others.

Go to pixel.labcorp.com and order your test.

oh i didn't think it was clear

i thought he was doing the whole trump deal about not needing to get tested even if you have symptoms and just staying home regardless.

because that sounds like bad advice. you should absolutely find out if you have the bug and then monitor your O2 closely.

that's really the responsible play here.

Last night you posted another thread asking which Dallas hospital we would recommend to you to seek treatment for Covid-19. Just my opinion, but if you or someone in your family is sick enough to warrant you asking which is the best hospital for Covid-19 treatment, then you should probably stay home and not go on an out of town trip.

Why did this discussion take a political turn with someone on this thread feeling it was necessary to lecture me about the responsible thing to do? I merely asked where one might receive such testing as CVS and other facilities are impossible to get into. As an adult with three kids and more than a passing ability to manage my affairs, please kindly keep your opinions to yourself. I'm at home, going nowhere and simply seeking some direction on places to receive rapid results testing. Thanks to those who helpfully weighed in.

I would stay away from CVS unless you have no other way, I've talked to 5 people and every single one waited over 10 days for results.

I've read other threads regarding different treatments and thought it would be helpful to know where people recommend for best treatment. It's actually not related to this current thread regarding testing.

I've had some very minor issues that are likely allergy related from the Sahara storm but want to be certain. I have a senior dad who we are scheduled to see next week who doesn't care about the risks, but I'm cautious enough to get tested. Nothing more, nothing less.

My point was if you ask where to be treated in one thread and where to get rapid results so you can go away for the weekend in another the point was DON'T go away, NOT don't get tested. Get tested sure, but definately stay home away from everyone while you await results.

Hopefully nobody is dumb enough to get tested then go on a trip potentially infecting countless others. Get tested and stay the F home! Nobody wants you getting them sick.

The preaching in this thread is ridiculous. The guy just asked where to get a rapid response test.

The preaching is based off stupid and irresponsible decisions made by people getting tested, then going out and about as if nothing is wrong, only to find out a few days later that they were positive the whole time. That is ridiculous in my opinion. It didn't come out of a vacuum of people just deciding to get on a soap box about this.

If I had indicated that was my intention you'd have a point. Given that I requested locations for rapid results testing, not so much. Wish people could just be helpful but it's even getting difficult to find those folks amongst fellow Aggies.

And by the way, I found such a location, managed to get in, got my results and they are negative. Of course, just in case, I'm going to wait a few more days until my allergies clear before going out just to be safe. At NO point in my question did I indicate I was going on my trip come hell or high water and I thought it was abundantly clear to those that weren't triggered for a public service message that I was seeking a rapid result location for that very reason. In any event, thank you to those that were trying to be helpful.

Went to Preston Hollow ER on Walnut Hill and 75. I believe their Highland Park and Lakewood locations also offer the same test.

For real. I got really sick at work a couple of years ago to the point where I couldn't even keep water down. Because of the abdominal pain I was having they were worried I may have an issue with my appendix. I ended up getting a bill for $30K in the mail. Thankfully my insurance covered most of it.
