How long do you want to ignore this user?

I'm honestly not trying to be "that guy", but after reading through various threads a question came to mind... how do we know so little about something that has been causing such a crisis in our country for such a prolonged period of time? By this point I would think we would be on our way to shutting this s*** down, or at the very least know what truly spreads it. The narrative changes every day and we all we are told is "wear a mask". I would've just figured since this has been a world wide issue, that there would've have been a group of doctors somewhere that had a better solution than masks.

I don't know what to say that won't get me deleted/banned, but I agree with you. It doesn't make sense.

There are better solutions than masks, but none that seemingly give the economy even a chance of surviving.

Pretty much every disease you could name off hand has been studied for decades. In general it takes about 10 years to develop a new drug. It's not all that surprising that we don't know **** about this virus 6 months in. Actually the best way to put it is that so much of what we do know is probably wrong.

A couple years from now we'll be able to look at all the data and sort fact from fiction, but there's just no chance of that in the fog of war.

The good news is that a vaccine isn't really dependent on understanding all the details of viral transmission, infection, disease course, or treatment. If we can inject you with something that looks a lot like the outside of COVID, you'll probably gain immunity.

Vaccine development is still slow even at warp speed, but worst case I see this being over in the spring.

This. The virus has been known for a few months, and since it is new to humans there is no book on how it will act in any situation. Problems that have been known for decades are still being researched. Six months is not much time in medical research.

Masks work, in my opinion
