Neurologists are on Wednesday publishing details of more than 40 UK Covid-19 patients whose complications ranged from brain inflammation and delirium to nerve damage and stroke. In some cases, the neurological problem was the patient's first and main symptom.
...
The cases add to concerns over the long-term health effects of Covid-19, which have left some patients breathless and fatigued long after they have cleared the virus, and others with numbness, weakness and memory problems.

Very concerning. It does appear at this point that the majority of cases are "mild," but we know nothing about the long-term impacts.

So 40 people out of the over 280,000 covid cases the UK has had?

Sometimes bad stuff happens in the world. There's no sense in worrying about the stuff that is extremely rare.

So someone has a stroke, goes to the hospital, and tests positive for COVID? I'm not discounting this but until someone shows that COVID caused it or that people with COVID are having these problems at an abnormal rate, it doesn't seem interesting to me.

I have read that small clots are causing a variety of issues in various organs. Autopsies are not finding actual viral damage, but are finding damage due to loss of oxygen. This is happening to all age groups.

A couple of doctors on this forum have discussed this and are using anti-clotting treatments to avoid clotting damage. I am taking aspirin now just in case.

HS classmate of mine died last month from a brain aneurysm.

I'm assuming that's pretty rare for 47yr old women? Makes you wonder with how Covid is allegedly causing clotting problems.

All virus can cause very rare and odd problems. This is nothing new and nothing to be alarmed about at this time. You don't see much news about transverse myelitis, viral myocarditis, etc but it does happen regularly and has for 100's of years.
