If Covid 19 is so contagious, why didn't my family get it?

We have Family all over the place 100's and 100's of them scattered everywhere and not one has admitted to having it. And we have close family where we all live within less than a mile of each other, 3 of them over 80 years old, and about 20 other family members, nobody got it yet. I would know if any of them get it. some of us travel all over Texas and a few other states and come back on most weekends and we are around each other all the time, eat together Family get togethers on Sundays. Nothing. Not one case. I heard on Radio Brazos County has 17 or 18 people Hospitalized for the entire Brazos County for Covid, not for That Day but Total headcount in the Hospital for Covid.

Sounds like you've been lucky while not being as cautious as maybe you should. Just remember, sometimes luck runs out.

More like hubris tending towards outright lying. There's no "analysis" in the claim that you have 100 relatives and you WOULD KNOW if any of them caught it.

I'm sorry...but it seems like an exaggerated story to fit a narrative. I've never met anyone who has hundreds and hundreds of family members and even then actually keeps up with a quarter of them. Even Utah mormons don't keep up with that much family.

I have lots of family and friends too with a small number of them having had it...maybe 4. Just over 1% of the entire US population has been diagnosed with this disease so it's very likely you haven't known anyone with it. However, to be so naive to think that hundreds and hundreds of your family members are somehow immune to it seems a bit far fetched to me.

Now you're replying to yourself?

Still not buying this...and your responses are making it even less believable.

I keep getting hung up on your sharing your hotel room with a teenage girl that is not your daughter.
Why? Is that weird? I've seen plenty of movies that start just like this.

If a large enough group of folks start flipping coins, the chance of someone in that group getting 20 heads in a row goes up and up and up. That doesn't change the on the margin probabilities for the average person.

Don't confuse your personal random chance or luck with the probability of getting this bug.

No one is going to admit on social media right now that they aren't feeling well unless they already have a confirmed positive test result. Even my family members that blather on about the most mundane **** have stopped complaining about allergies.

If that's the litmus test for hundreds of people don't have it, they just are keeping their mouths shut.

A friend's 3 year-old granddaughter tested positive while in town visiting them a few weeks ago. She had runny nose, cough and low fever. No one in the household, parents or grandparents, ended up testing positive even after holding and kissing her while she wasn't feeling good. How in the hell is that possible?
