Forgive me if this has been discussed in another thread, but have there been any new studies/findings on how UV light/heat/wind affects transmission? I know there were some initial studies but haven't seen any updated findings.

I ask because I reffed a high school scrimmage last night, and with it 95 degrees outside and windy, it was just hard to picture a large amount of transmission in that environment. Maybe I'm wrong.

A windy, sunlit, outdoor environment would be exceedingly difficult for the transmission of COVID.

Sunlight destroys it in minutes.

Thanks for the response. I know the "within 6 feet for 15 minutes straight" philosophy applies indoors. I wonder what the outdoor equivalent is under the conditions you mentioned.

Football players will be in close proximity during games, but only for a few seconds at a time and usually outdoors. While not 0, surely the outdoor setting negates some of the potential risk.

It does and so does testing before games to keep infected players off the field.

No reason we can't play football, none.

So given elementary kids aged and younger are rarely getting the disease or transmitting it, is it safe to open up the playground equipment?

So we play all day games this season. Problem solved.

Hydrate, folks.
