Here's a link to the study:

It is a fragment of an antibody. I'm guessing the took a neutralizing antibody and started trimming it down to the minimum needed. Smaller could be easier to make but it is also patentable if it is not found in nature. Hard to patent an unmodified antibody since it would occur in nature.

Anyway, the paper was slow to load so I haven't read it yet, but it could take a while to get the studies to show it works and is safe. Most of the things we have tried so far have been drugs where safety was already known.

How do you get it in a usable form for patients?

Sounds fantastic and it also sounds like it'll take years and years to make any difference. I'd love to be wrong and I'm happy for many of you who know more than I to enlighten me.

Will need to establish safety in a human host prior to EUA and availability. There are some other antibody treatments out there already on trial. Haven't heard much on their success/fail rate.

A vaccine will likely be here in a few months (or less). I would not be long any treatment that is not already in use.
