Many are, yes. But for instance my daughter at TAMU is all virtual, no sports pass (can't really pull tix as a sophomore). Medical device/healthcare business is not back to normal at all.JesusQuintana said:
Are people under 50 not living life? Other than a mask here and there, my under 50 family has been back to normal all summer. Vacations, kids in sports and school, etc. If healthy young(ish) folks aren't living life it's likely a personal choice but from my small window to the world life is moving along.
Except for all the people that are going out of business still, in record numbers thanks to the shutdowns in Texas. Yes its back to normal.JesusQuintana said:

That's a serious question? Crude has a 30 handle on it.....energy and related chains losing money, laying off thousands in Houston alone. Bankruptcies in Travel and Leisure at all time highs......commercial real estate next. Retail getting decimated, especially bars and restaurant. Where do you live that you don't see this?JesusQuintana said:

Ok, perhaps i should have said as normal as possible considering the situation. When I stated normal, i did not mean life as it was in 2019 because that's not going to happen. I meant as normal as possible considering there is a novel virus affecting certain parts of our population. Once again, my point was that many folks under 50 that have no additional high risk conditions can live a life that resembles normalcy with a few outlying situations. Many (not all) folks can get back to "living life"...they don't need to be sitting in quarantine any longer. In my community, folks carry on in a somewhat normal fashion as described in a previous post however i understand that not all situations and locations are the same. Perhaps I am wrong and most of the country just can't get back to "living life" however as far as I can tell, those not at risk have resumed living/producing in my community. I hope this clears up any confusion but if it doesn't, oh well. I am going to keep on living as best i can.duck79 said:JesusQuintana said:

My 7yr old daughter started soccer a few weeks ago. The oldest daughter of our coach had a friend test positive so now he and his family are in quarantine for 14 days and will miss 3 games. Not really normal.
As long we we're being forced to wear muzzles we aren't back to normal.JesusQuintana said:

Dripping springs, TX. My point is that folks under 50 like myself should be living life thus assisting in economic recovery. We don't need to barricade in our houses waiting for some magical report or green light telling us it's ok to live. Take a road trip, vacation and go get some food at ur local restaurant.
Thank you....AustinCountyAg said:
man yall are really taking Jesus' post out of context.....I think his point was that snce summertime his family has been living life as normal as they can, and they aren't wrapped up in the "cant leave your house or you will die" crowd. His point was the numbers prove it also that the chance of getting this virus and dying is stupid low.
No we under 50 cannot live a normal life due to government restrictions. Some examples:JesusQuintana said:

I cant convince my healthy 41 year old wife to get on a flight so we can take a vacation. Neither of us have any health issues and don't live with anyone with health issues. No amount of data will convince her that she is not at risk of dying.

Get rid of the stupid mask mandates and open it all up. Period. I said back in March this was a massive overreaction and the data now bears that out.

Or maybe the masks and social distancing work. Period.
Yup, it's a smart virus I reckon...knoxtom said:The_Fox said:

The goal was to slow the rate of transmission so that the virus could morph into something less deadly and doctors could learn how to treat effectively. It is working. If we had not shut it down, we would be at huge numbers of dead.
