We've gone to a few restaurants with them, but other than that, we pick our food up to go, and really don't miss the inside of a restaurant.

Not cleaning counters, tables, dishes and pans are one of the main reasons to eat out.

As an "open it up" conservative i offer the following thoughts on threads/polls like this.

1. People who are cautious are slow to show up in these types of threads to brag on their cautious approach.
2. Facebook and other social media are a perfect example of #1 above. Not a whole lot of posts saying "look at me and my family playing it safe staying at home during Covid."

We have largely assumed our "normal" life to the extent it is comfortable/possible given social stigma and restrictions. My family chooses to adhere to the requests for wearing masks and social distancing to make others feel more comfortable and hopefully get our local economy up and running at full speed. I understand this is a dangerous admission on this board, in this day and age, but it's been our approach. I try to think about how my actions are going to play into the overall success of my desired action - open it up. I had an elderly gentleman thank me for stepping to the side in the vet's office today (both of us masked). I was proud to see him out and about taking care of his business and also glad that my actions might further encourage him to get back after it.

Fire away.

As back to normal as possible except for working from home. Went to the office one time and twenty people there instead of normal 300+ made it depressing so I won't go back until we are required.

We also are dealing with caring for my mother-in-law who will probably pass by next week from ALS. With me and my wife having to do so much to manage her at-home care and maintain her home, we haven't been able to vacation so we've only got out of town for a couple of short trips with one to CS for an overnight, one day trip to Tyler and one three night business/pleasure trip to Jackson, MS and Memphis.

Otherwise we go out to eat often in the DFW area, been back at church (wear mask only when entering and exiting) for over two months, regular gatherings with our church community group of 10-20 people pool side, in homes and at restaurants since mid-June. We go to grocery stores, furniture stores, retail stores every week and wear our masks as required and wear them when entering restaurants several times each week. We don't mind putting them on to make others comfortable but we don't really believe they are doing any good.

I kept four season tickets and went to the game on Saturday. I wore three masks the entire game while my daughter and nephew only wore theirs when they were not in our seats. I wore my because allergies were killing me, not because I was worried about CV.

I would encourage everyone to get out and live life as normal as we are allowed while respecting those around you that might still be concerned.

If our circumstances were the same as they were at the end of last year, we would be out and about like before. But we have a 2 month old now, so we are still mostly staying home. Not due to COVID fear, purely due to the logistics of being out with a baby. Whenever we get a chance to go out, we take it.

My in laws came in from Las Vegas about a week ago for the A&M football season. They had only really left the house for groceries and doctor visits since March. And obviously it was the first time they had left the area since March. They both said Dallas was like a different world. There are 'people everywhere' and the news isn't all about covid and how everyone is going to die. They were quite taken aback about how open everything was and it kind of scared them for several days.

But I think getting back into Kyle was actually really good for them. It gave them something to look forward to and a low pressure event where they could forget the outside world. It may have even given them a sense of normalcy they didn't expect.

I think some people need to take those baby steps before they realize they are not alone in their concerns and appreciate that people are actually out there living their life while also generally doing the right things (wearing masks and distancing where appropriate)

We are in our 70's and have assumed our previous life as much as the law allows. We do wear masks into businesses, but only to keep them from being hassled by stupid rules. We refuse to live on our knees and believe that the disease is now an endemic.

We will both receive the vaccine when it is available.

Close friends in New Mexico have been imprisoned, and the difference in our lives is amazing. That governor is wanting to make everyone there wear tracking bracelets. Unfreakingbelievable.

Memorial day ended our SiP as a family. We all wear our masks willingly, but we are back to normal for the most part as far as going out and doing.

We don't go out to movies as much because i can only see Tenet so many times.

i've seen my in-laws about 3 times during the pandemic, but i haven't seen my folks since Christmas. They locked down and locked down hard, but they're both overweight and highly susceptible to co-morbidities. In laws are in great health.

Well, we don't typically clean the restaurant's pans and don't dirty any at our house when we pick up restaurant food. We do put the food on real dishes because I prefer that. Since we have a dishwasher, that isn't difficult to clean. As far as wiping down the counter and table, that takes less than a minute and really doesn't cause me any stress. It's great that we get to make our own choices, isn't it?

Any continued "distancing" and avoiding crowds we do now as a family is largely due to the fact that this entire pandemic, combined with all the political fighting on TexAgs and other social media has made me generally just not want to be around people more than I already didn't want to be around people.

Went and bought an acre of land in a mountain community in New Mexico that is over an hour to the nearest grocery store, and I can't wait to move out there to retire. Yeah, we are trying to stay healthy, but most of it is just that we generally don't like being around this society much anymore.

Covid could go away tomorrow and we'd probably not change a thing.

Wearing masks when out in social environments. Distancing from my parents (I'll go over and visit once a week and we just sit out by the pool with some space in between us).

I think you're actually seeing a lot of people not necessarily refrain from certain activities because they are necessarily scared of the virus, but rather because they could adequately replicate those activities without having to go be around a ton of strangers.

Movie theater with a bunch of strangers and people talking? Nah, we'll just watch on the big screen at home.

Dinner in a restaurant with a bunch of strangers? Nah, we'll either cook or pickup food and have friends over.

Grocery store? Why was I choosing that over doorstep delivery in the first place?

Live sporting attendance was declining as it was.

I miss concerts though... but not really avoiding them per se... the whole industry essentially still on hold.

I think a lot of people have realized while they enjoy being social with their friends, there ain't a whole lot worth being in crowds with a bunch of strangers right now.
Bingo. Though a bit different, my life is filled with lots of fun and great things to do without surrounding myself with strangers.
My work is complicated by business producing activities I no longer can do which is a challenge but I am learning to adapt.
My adult kids and I have spent more time together then we have in many years and same is true of our closest friends. Most gatherings have been outdoors so I will monitor the change of seasons and proceed as I see fit.

Business aside, all in all, I have found a complete silver lining to the cloud of Covid.

An hour to the nearest grocery store?! That's some remote **** right there. Probably a very large learning curve on how to stock the pantry and fridge. I complain when I have to go around the corner because I forgot something.

Other than maybe keeping a little more than normal distance between myself and strangers and wearing a mask only when "required" when going into a store or other indoor establishment - or as required by customers as part of my job (but never when I'm outside), Our life is pretty much back to normal and has been for several months.

We still have a few friends who don't want to meet up at restaurants like we typically did, so we haven't done that as much as we used to, but the wife and I have no issue with it.

Wife and I probably only went to see a movie at a theatre about once every couple of years, so not missing that.

Well, that's to a Wal-Mart, etc in Alamogordo. There's the basic staples 30min away in Cloudcroft. Plus a General Store with even more narrow basics right in "town".

Can't wait

Because grocery delivery sucks in my experience. You get the worst selection of produce and I hope you don't purchase a lot a meat because that is even worse. If want you want is out of stock then you will end up getting something totally unrelated.

Go to church wear mask
Go out to eat, wear mask in and out
Have family over no mask
Go to store wear mask inside

Really not that bad, but I work from home so not really much different.

I traveled this summer to the Blackhills during Sturgis week. If you want to talk about a different world, you should visit there. Masks < 1% of everyone I saw. Went out to eat everyday, no one had masks including servers and cooking staff

The big items that have affected me
1). Gym closed down permanently. I used to go M-F at lunch. I work out in the back porch now and have a full setup.
2). Have not went to a football, baseball or any sporting even yet
3). Have not went to a movie theater yet. I used go about once a month

Went to a face to face meeting for the first time today in Austin since March. 8 people in a room wearing masks and laughing. Drive with a co worker and no mask.

About 65 percent in the office. Wear a mask in the office but when you get to your office or cubicle you can take it off.

I go to work 2 days a week and the rest work from home. Nice change.

Wife and I will eat in a restaurant. MCADOOS in New Braunfels and it was packed at 75 percent.

Done everything allowable. Trips to AZ, Montana, Wy, Tx and different parts of CO.

We were fine the whole spring and summer. Wife caught it right after Labor Day...we presume from her students.

Glad we didn't postpone living our lives since it was a certainty that she and the kiddos would be exposed one way or another.

I'm going out as much as possible like usual. Live in SLC.

When all this first started I was scared shizzless and didn't do anything. Eventually ended up getting over the fear and have been to Sequoia, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and Moab all this summer. Done living scared.

Tangential... What's the word on how the ski areas plan to operate this winter?

Try to make several trips to Snowbird and Alta each season.

Oddly I haven't read too much about it since I don't really have to plan trips/lodging/ski school, etc.

I got an email from Snowbird and they sent this link. Should help you out with what to expect. I would assume early planning is key this year.

Ugh. Hopefully you were on the ass end of your vacation or else that would super suck!

Can't wait for ski season! So nice to have so many options close to a metro area. Pretty rare. I hope we get the Olympics again too. My dream is to live in a city hosting the Olympics. I would take the whole month off work.

Oh no... it was the first at-the-mountain day of the extended trip. Flew out Thursday. Skied that Friday and Saturday, then checked into the Cliff for the upcoming week. Upon returning from buying groceries down on Fort Union, we saw the signs that Alta was closed. By the time we got back to the Cliff, it was announced the Bird was closing, too. No lifts on Sunday, and then the Cliff closed mid-day Monday. Womp.

SLC would be a great host again. There are really only a handful of cities in the world that can host the winter Olympics well, and SLC is one of 'em.

Duuuude. Major suckage. Hopefully you got some refunds and/our vouchers for any upcoming trips back. What terrible timing.

SLC did great. One of the only city's to actually turn a profit. And we still have all the infrastructure in place. They've maintained everything. Pretty cool! Heard they may even try to put a train in up to Park City if they get it.

At my church, about 2/3 wear masks and about 1/3 don't.

People pretty much sit apart to maintain social distancing.

I was just told that in my county, we had 13 active cases a week ago and now we have 59 active cases. So that means that more than 1% of the county has covid-19 now.
