We've gone to a few restaurants with them, but other than that, we pick our food up to go, and really don't miss the inside of a restaurant.

I likely won't eat inside a restaurant until 2021
it's not that big of a sacrifice tbh
Bingo. Though a bit different, my life is filled with lots of fun and great things to do without surrounding myself with strangers.Proposition Joe said:
Wearing masks when out in social environments. Distancing from my parents (I'll go over and visit once a week and we just sit out by the pool with some space in between us).
I think you're actually seeing a lot of people not necessarily refrain from certain activities because they are necessarily scared of the virus, but rather because they could adequately replicate those activities without having to go be around a ton of strangers.
Movie theater with a bunch of strangers and people talking? Nah, we'll just watch on the big screen at home.
Dinner in a restaurant with a bunch of strangers? Nah, we'll either cook or pickup food and have friends over.
Grocery store? Why was I choosing that over doorstep delivery in the first place?
Live sporting attendance was declining as it was.
I miss concerts though... but not really avoiding them per se... the whole industry essentially still on hold.
I think a lot of people have realized while they enjoy being social with their friends, there ain't a whole lot worth being in crowds with a bunch of strangers right now.
An hour to the nearest grocery store?! That's some remote **** right there. Probably a very large learning curve on how to stock the pantry and fridge. I complain when I have to go around the corner because I forgot something.Player To Be Named Later said:
Any continued "distancing" and avoiding crowds we do now as a family is largely due to the fact that this entire pandemic, combined with all the political fighting on TexAgs and other social media has made me generally just not want to be around people more than I already didn't want to be around people.
Went and bought an acre of land in a mountain community in New Mexico that is over an hour to the nearest grocery store, and I can't wait to move out there to retire. Yeah, we are trying to stay healthy, but most of it is just that we generally don't like being around this society much anymore.
Covid could go away tomorrow and we'd probably not change a thing.
Because grocery delivery sucks in my experience. You get the worst selection of produce and I hope you don't purchase a lot a meat because that is even worse. If want you want is out of stock then you will end up getting something totally unrelated.Proposition Joe said:

Glad we didn't postpone living our lives since it was a certainty that she and the kiddos would be exposed one way or another.

I'm going out as much as possible like usual. Live in SLC.
When all this first started I was scared shizzless and didn't do anything. Eventually ended up getting over the fear and have been to Sequoia, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and Moab all this summer. Done living scared.
Oddly I haven't read too much about it since I don't really have to plan trips/lodging/ski school, etc.Keegan99 said:SkiMo said:

Tangential... What's the word on how the ski areas plan to operate this winter?
Try to make several trips to Snowbird and Alta each season.
Ugh. Hopefully you were on the ass end of your vacation or else that would super suck!Keegan99 said:
Cool. Looks like The Cliff is open.
I was actually up there in March when they shut everything down. Was NOT planning to end up skiing the final day of the season.
Duuuude. Major suckage. Hopefully you got some refunds and/our vouchers for any upcoming trips back. What terrible timing.Keegan99 said:
Oh no... it was the first at-the-mountain day of the extended trip. Flew out Thursday. Skied that Friday and Saturday, then checked into the Cliff for the upcoming week. Upon returning from buying groceries down on Fort Union, we saw the signs that Alta was closed. By the time we got back to the Cliff, it was announced the Bird was closing, too. No lifts on Sunday, and then the Cliff closed mid-day Monday. Womp.
SLC would be a great host again. There are really only a handful of cities in the world that can host the winter Olympics well, and SLC is one of 'em.
At my church, about 2/3 wear masks and about 1/3 don't.Aust Ag said:
