How long do you want to ignore this user?
I was exposed Oct 18. Tested positive Oct 22. Symptoms gone by Oct 26. Tested positive again on Nov 2.
I'm still symptom free and would really like to go out this weekend for an event so I'm trying to get retested however I've been told that per CDC guidelines I have to wait another 10 days from my last test.

Are there no places that will disregard this "guideline" and test me?

10 days from first positive test. You can continue to test positive for months.

Yup. It's from the first positive test. You should be good to go after 10 days no symptoms....

So does anyone know of what type of place won't turn me down? So far 2 places that are emergency clinics have said its cdc guidelines. 10 days until next test, even if its a retest.

Do they know when you last got tested? Or did you provide them that information?

I've been told 10 days symptom free (mainly fever) after a positive test and you're fine.

They won't retest you? You shouldn't need a test, unless someone is requiring it for proof, but if that's the case they need to update their policies.

Print this out and show it to them: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/end-home-isolation.html

I think or know I had COVID-19, and I had symptoms
You can be around others after:
  • 10 days since symptoms first appeared and
  • 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and
  • Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving*
*Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not delay the end of isolation

Ya, I met all those but I wanted to be sure on monday so I got a CVS test and it came back positive.

These places have told me I cannot retest when they asked if I tested positive before and I tell them about my reset on monday. They said 10 days regardless.

Do you HAVE to tell them when you last tested positive?

I thought about lying but I know the test results go to the government. Not sure if it attaches to my name, so I don't know if they can find out.

What you are doing has nothing to do with CDC guidelines. You do not need another test, as you can continue to test positive in some cases for months. Who is actually requiring that you test negative or is it just your curiosity. Once you are past your ten days, you are done. I wouldn't waste one more ounce of time on this. Yes, I am a physician.

Colorado Dept of Health straight up told me DON'T RETEST it is a waste of resources and not necessary.

You can continue to test positive for 90 days after infection.

No one is requiring that I know of. I just have tickets to the Houston Open this weekend. I don't want to spread anything if I'm still contagious.

That seems to be the case after reading a few different articles. So I guess I'm done with testing. I'm good to go.

Then why do you insist on getting tested if no one is requiring it? Just because you test positive again doesn't mean you're contagious. You stop being contagious 7-9 days after first infection, regardless if you test positive again after that.

For some reason I was thinking you had to test negative before you were for sure not contagious.

No that is one of the biggest myths around Covid. You could test positive for 3 months after but that doesn't mean you're contagious for 3 months. It stops after that first week and a half.

My family friend tested positive for covid 3 months after getting it. She had no symptoms at all.
