Anybody in mental health care have experience with this or explanation of particular variables?

Anxiety, depression and insomnia were most common among recovered COVID-19 patients in the study who developed mental health problems, and the researchers also found significantly higher risks of dementia, a brain impairment condition.

Couldnt it be argued that it's the result of the lockdowns, social isolation, and having to wear a face diaper when you are closer than 6 feet to another human?

Yes but that is too logical. Since 3/1/2020 everything bad is due to covid. Try to keep up.

The study also found that people with a pre-existing mental illness were 65% more likely to be diagnosed with COVID-19 than those without.

It couldn't possibly be the fear, the lockdowns and the isolation? Nah.

Perfect example of fear. I've heard posters here say "I've seen people die of covid and it isn't pretty." So, ok I'm trying to figure out...is death from flu pretty? Or cancer? Or aids? Why would this need to be said?

I assume these numbers are roughly the same as those without Covid right now? Perhaps due to the isolation?

My dear friend's husband had the dementia it mentioned. His covid caused mini strokes that simply took out some of his brain function. He is cured and his body is healthy, but his mind is gone. He had a very bad case of covid. In hospital for a month. Doctors kept telling them he would not make it another 24 hours. There was a DNR, but his body fought through it. They were told his brain will not recover. The saddest part his that thos eweeks in the hospital on death's door, no one could even be with him.

I think they are referring to the idea you're last moments are alone, without family by your side.

I'm an extrovert to the fullest and anytime I've had to quarantine, I feel like I'm going to go bat**** insane after day 4.

Covid causes inflammation of the blood vessels. It is primarily a blood vessel disease. Your brain is highly vascular. I don't know if the percentage is that high, but from the pathology perspective it makes sense.

100% of the people i know are facing mental health issues due to the covid lockdowns. The 4 people I know who got covid recovered in a few days with barely any symptoms and 1 asymptomatic.
