I wonder how this will go down.
It's clear fat people are more at risk, so do you just walk up to where they are giving vaccines and get it because you're fat?
Or what if you're an essential worker, how do you show proof of that?
I personally think outside of the known at risk groups it will be hard to get people to take it, so if you want one you might be able to get one pretty easy after health care workers/ Older folks.
The government is already getting the distribution worked out. They aren't going off "essential workers" since that term is basically worthless. They are distributing to front line health care workers first, so to prove you are eligible, you would need to prove you are in direct contact with covid patients. If you are, there's a good chance your place of employment is already working with the government on securing your vaccine. If you are part of a high risk group, and are interesting in getting the vaccine, you should talk to your doctor. They can get you in line if you are eligible.
You won't be able to walk up to your local CVS (or even hospital) and ask for the vaccine for a while. By the time you can, we'll definitely know if there are any short term effects from the vaccine. Long term effects, that's a different story.
