The number of patients treated was only 83, but among the 83 people who received the medication there was an approximately 71% reduction in mortality compared to the control group.

The medication was tested after an AI program suggested the drug could prevent the virus from invading lung cells.

I am not a doc, but like many here I read and listen to as much relevant C19 info as I can get my eyes and ears on. One thing I learned recently from a doc on youTube is that one differentiation in those who have relatively minor C19 experiences is their autoimmune responses compared to those who have more severe autoimmune responses. There seems to be some anecdotal evidence that people with autoimmune disorders such as eczema are perhaps more prone to have a severe reaction to the virus.

Isn't rheumatoid arthritis an autoimmune disease?

Anyone aware of any trials in the US on this? Doubt there's enough information for an EUA at the moment. But it seems like it has potential.
