So we have heard many times that Pfizer has 20 million ready to go. What about the other 2 companies? How much do they have ready to go? I tried google, but the amount of nonsense out there right now is overwhelming.

Yeah, both have promised the US 20 million doses this year, but keep in mind that both vaccines require two doses. So the United States is expecting a total of about 20 million people to be vaccinated by the end of the year.

Let me be clear: The agency should not cut any corners in its review process, just cut out the sitting-around time. FDA insiders say the agency and its approximately 17,000 employees were dark for the four-day Thanksgiving holiday, including those working on the vaccine approval.

Welcome to the joys of medicine. Doctors are expected to do an accurate and thorough assessment of unfiltered data and institute a plan of action in 15 minutes. Lawyers get 3 hours to do the same. Administrators get a week and government bureaucrats get 3 months.

This is basically any regulated industry. Has been my experience working with regulatory bodies in O&G. But after dealing with a lot of those people I have to say it's probably a fair set up. A lot like how in grade school the some kids got to go to a special room to take their tests and had all the time they needed while the rest of us had a deadline, some people just need the extra time.
