Some of the comorbidities of the medicare population are interesting. Alzheimer's, sickle cell, etc. The study of the rest of the population will be interesting.

The interview discusses this extensive study (not peer-reviewed yet). They then used that study to create this calculator for projecting mortality risk for people over the age of 65.

Interesting stuff.
