I participated in a seroprevelance study and my results just came back. It says "SARS COVID 2 IGG INDEX - 0.02." with no explanation for anything. My wife did the same study and her result was just listed as negative.

Does anyone know what that means?

Not a Doctor, but best I can tell it means they detected a low level of the long term antibodies in you, and none in her.

You are negative for past infection and have no immunity to COVID-19.

Our bodies kicks out antibodies in response to lots of things. Your body randomly decided to pump out a nearly undetectable amount of antibodies to COVID.

Who ordered the test? Shouldn't they be informing you of what the results mean?

It was part of a seroprevalance study being run by UT Southwestern. You basically get a MyChart update on your results and gift card.

Actually . . .I just saw in the FAQ section of the study site that they will follow up with me.

If your blood test is positive for antibodies to COVID-19, then you were likely exposed to COVID-19 in the past, do not have an active infection, and you are not currently passing the virus on to others. We will contact all people with positive results to explain the results in more detail.
Still, the lack of context for these things is a bit strange. I had the same experience with my last test at an urgent care clinic. They confirmed my rapid result was negative. I received an email 6 days later with the lab results and it had nothing but strange words and numbers but no "you are negative" statement.
