How long do you want to ignore this user?
My Dad passed last night due to pneumonia and cancer. It's been a rough year, we lost Mom on Jan 3rd from cancer. I tested positive last Friday for Covid after losing my ability to smell The night before.. It's my understanding that this normally happens about 3 to 4 days in. I retested yesterday and was still positive. We are trying to make funeral arrangements so I can attend.
What is the average length of the illness to where I would get a negative test result? I don't want to get anyone else sick. So far I have had very mild symptoms and just have a very light cough and loss of smell! Thanks and stay safe Ags!

10 days quarantine from your positive test. If you still have actual cold symptoms afterwards, I wouldn't be around family until 72 hours symptom-free. The loss of smell & taste can last much longer and you can test positive for weeks afterwards as well.

Sorry for your loss.

You shouldn't be contagious after 10 days from start of symptoms, if you're fever free (with no meds) and your symptoms are improving

Follow the CDC link. It is 10 day quarantine from symptom onset, not from positive test. Along with 24 hrs fever free with no meds (tylenol, etc.) as well as all other symptoms improving, not including loss of smell or taste as those can last many weeks. I went past the 10 days as I still had fever on day 12.

Sorry about your losses, definitely a tough year.

Any chance your father wanted to be cremated? This could allow you to delay a memorial until you are clear of protocols.

My dad passed suddenly and completely unexpectedly a week ago today. Only the immediate family (9 people) came together for a memorial service on Sunday (all masked). My brother tested positive the next day, and his daughter, my wife, and I also began symptoms Tuesday (and tested positive on Wednesday).

You are doing right by your family to be careful, despite the difficult circumstances. As you know, a very painful loss coupled with COVID-19 really sucks.

My condolences on your loss.

Sorry for your loss, it's tough not being able to see or talk to them! One day we will again though! Prayers to you and your family! Also follow the protocol on here! I had very little symptoms! I also did the ivermectin the benefits far outweighed the cost. I had absolutely no reaction to it!

Sorry for your loss. Please be careful.

My Cousins Aunt passed away on Thanksgiving Day. He and his wife went to Cotulla to bury her the next week. He and his wife were positive 4 days later. He is in the ICU unit at Herman Hospital in Houston now. His wife dis not have bad symptoms. Both are 58. Found out one of the funeral home staff was positive.
