Does anyone know how long it takes to start building immunity after getting the vaccine? I've heard after the first dose the efficacy is around 54% but is that after a day, a week, two weeks???

CDC says it likely takes a few weeks like most vaccines. I feel like I've read that's after the second dose, but I can't find that anywhere, so maybe that's not accurate.

14 days. 5-7 days to start generating antibodies but the studies released by Phizer show, basically, a complete flattening off of infectious curve at 2 weeks. It's pretty impressive.

So just to make sure I am understanding correctly... 14 days after the second shot (booster) for maximum immunity but will start generating antibodies 5-7 days after first dose?

This is what Pfizer reported

Yes this is the chart I was thinking about. Couldn't remember if it was after the booster or 1st shot. Looks like it starts right after the first shot. Even more impressive.

I think they are using the First Shot date as a count start marker. I don't think they are reporting this was the result for people who did only one dose. However, I may be wrong on that.
