Spouse and I both have COVID

So neither of us have bad symptoms. I was achy and cough on Sat / Sun (tested positive Sun). Pretty much back to 90% Mon, Tues and Wed (today). Wife tested negative on Sat. Took another test on Tues (due to me finding out I'm positive) and she tested positive. So she doesn't really have any symptoms and I had mild symptoms the first day. Can we stay in the same room? Does it matter now? Can one person pass more "viral load" to another? Or can we treat our bedroom like a leper colony?

If you both have tested positive I see no reason for you to isolate from one another.

Same exact boat - I moved back to our bedroom after I found we were both positive. Kid is negative and I've been all up in his space before knowing I was positive. So weird

If he is younger , that makes sense. Younger kids don't seem to be effected by covid. At least not compared to older people. That is weird. Buts it's a man made virus and should never had been messed with.

Same situation here. Kid was actually sleeping in our bed because he loves sleeping with our new dog that will only sleep in our bed. He's now been banished to his room but everyone in our house has stayed symptom free after I tested positive. Wife tested negative Monday and did another yesterday just to be sure but she's symptom free.

How quickly did you test your kid? He may have just been tested too early for it to register yet. You can sometimes see a pretty big delay between family members in same household testing positive. Maybe wait until 6-7 days after your symptoms started and he was exposed. Also, go for a PCR test if possible. Rapids tend to show a pretty high rate of false negative, but even more so if someone happens to be asymptomatic.

it's almost immaterial if your kid gets a positive

just assume they have it and monitor for symptoms

and they need to quarantine

We're retesting my kid middle of next week. He seems fine and isn't complaining, but I want to be sure before we go around family in January
