Worried meddlesome aunt posting.
My niece had a headache on Christmas Eve, started running a fever on Sunday, 12/27. She had a Covid test on Tuesday, 12/29, and she got the positive result yesterday.
She is 30, morbidly obese, and had her thyroid taken out in August because of thyroid cancer. She is "between" PCPs. She went to CVS to have the Covid test. She sees an endocrinologist regularly and also her oncologist... last appointment with them was 12/17. It is our understanding that she is now cancer-free after the removal of the thyroid.
I am concerned... about the lack of doctor involvement. She's quarantine at home with her son. She's been running a low grade fever since Sunday. Today is the first day without a headache but she said she felt "icky" and stayed in bed all day.... and plans to pretty much stay on bed for the weekend.
Is she doing what she needs to be doing? Not sure there's much anyone here can offer but, if so, I'd be appreciative.
Thanks
