I am sitting in my office on Monday and I get an email from my Dad's LTC telling me that if I RSVP and show up at Noon the next day I can get the Pfizer vaccine because I have been designated an essential visitor. So I RSVP and go and line up with a bunch of other people to get the shot. I manage to get the shot before the pharmacist in charge of the deal looks at the line and unilaterally decides that most people in the line don't really qualify for the shot right now and cuts off the distribution.
So I've gotten shot number one and I am told that when I return in 20 days time there will be a second shot waiting for me.
My question is this: What if there isn't one waiting? Do I have any options. And if I cannot get the second shot on schedule what likely protection do I have form just the one shot? I have been told that just having the one shot likely keeps me out of the hospital if I do get COVID. Any info appreciated.
