Anyone get a cold sore inside their mouth as a symptom of covid?

It may just be a total coincidence but I noticed one inside my mouth (I don't get them often) on the same day I just tested positive.

Anyone else?

My mom (78) got several mouth sores early on, but had a mild case overall with only 3 days of feeling bad. She'd been taking extra D and zinc daily. Lots of documented studies showing up adding mouth sores to the list of symptoms. Good luck!

I usually do get cold sores (I've always called them fever blisters), either on my lip or inside my nose anytime I get sick or am exposed to too much sun. Basically, anytime my immune system gets distracted with something else, they tend to pop up.

I fully expected to get one when I had Covid am surprised that I didn't, but I had a VERY mild case and never had a fever.

Cold sores are viral or viral reactivation and usually on the exterior (lips, corner of mouth , etc) . Apthous ulcer is probably what OP referring to regarding sores in the mouth.

Ah, yes...you're right. A couple of summers ago I got Colorado Tick Fever. Instead of my usual fever blister on the lips or in the nose, I did get ulcers all in my mouth and the inside of my lips. It was so painful I could barely eat or drink anything. I was miserable for a few days - worse than the typical fever blister for sure.

Almost every human has one or more of about a dozen herpes strains, and most are fairly benign or only break out into a cold sore now and then. We suppress them so they only tend to break out when we are weak or stressed such as when another infection is attacking. There's some thought that extremely common viruses actually help condition the immune system from very early on in life.
