Thought I would share just to share and hear others experiences.

My wife and I tested postive back in June. I have continued to donate plasma since then and my antibodies are still present.

My wife donated as well and was positive for antibodies until sometime in December. About a week or so after her antibodies came back negative she received a letter stating HLA was present and that she is now inelligible to donate plasma ever again. I have heard of several others with this same scenario.

At this point I am continuing to donate to see if that will happen to me as well and to see how long antibodies are present.

HLA I think is unlikely to happen to you unless you are a lesbian couple, and you've been pregnant previously.

It's somewhat interesting to track how long antibodies are in your bloodstream, but it's probably not a real indicator of immunity (T-cell immunity is much longer).

HLA antibodies can develop post pregnancy or post blood transfusion/organ transplant. So at some point for you to develop HLA antibodies, one of those would need to happen.

Thanks for donating convalescent plasma. Really a huge help and is in great need.

My wife has never been pregnant, had a transfusion OR a transplant.

We actually have a friend who had the same situation and has never had any of those things either.
