With extended family / at the store / coworkers? Or do you get a little closer than you did 6-9 months ago?

Don't social distance with family and close friends. At some point we have to accept some risk.

I socially distance in stores.

Ditto.
In talking with sources connected to Meyer's family on Sunday, there was laughter about the persistence of the Texas pursuit.

Same but I've always stayed away from people at stores.

I'm done with it all. I try to not make anyone else uncomfortable, but I'm not living in this bizarro world any more. Done.

I pretty much always do what I used to (meaning I distance as I did before Covid. I am not a close talker but don't measure off 6 feet either). Especially now that I have had the shot and had Covid. If the other person wants me to SD, I do out of respect. But honestly, most people I interact with themselves do not distance and I think a lot of people just are overall tired of all of this and done and/or already had it and the shot so have relaxed a bit. I have started noticing a lot more hugging and handshaking going on in public around me again. A lot more people not masking or lazy chin masking. A lot less people being uptight.

And I love it.

It's like the proverb about the best time to plant a tree. The best time to stop was last May, the second best time is today.

I was social distancing before social distancing was cool. I've trained my whole life for this.

Yes, I do the best job I can to socially distance with anyone outside my household, including extended family. I loosen the boundaries when outside. It's not a major sacrifice.

When 2 of 3 conditions get met:
1) After I get vaccinated,
2) Any stores/municipalities I enter stop asking/requiring
3)I go a month without knowing anyone that has been admitted to the hospital/died from the covid.

Right now I am 0/3

I do in public/with strangers simply because I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. I don't with family and friends and haven't been since late last summer. The exception is of course the 4 times we've isolated at home following a known exposure.

For what it's worth, only one person in my immediate circle of roughly 40 people has had covid and they've all been going about normal life for 9 months or so the same way that I am; interacting with family and friends normally but distancing in public.

What is your definition of "knowing " someone that has died or been in the hospital?

For me it has to be friends or family of friends to have died and even for that it has been more than a month for me. Same with hospitalization

we do around my elderly parents. We still mask around them. We kind of had stopped but have multiple friends who have gotten Covid for the 2nd time after only about 4 months. So immunity is not very long IMHO. Luckily their symptoms the 2nd go around were less severe (which is different than what I've read on Texags). Anyhow, because it seems like my circle is getting round two, we've started distancing to some degree again. Especially indoors.

Someone I know on a first name basis.

My best friend's father just went on a vent yesterday.

About 4 months ago. Our county judge refuses to enforce it, stores doesn't say much, and for those that do I usually just claim some fake medical condition and they don't bother with it.

March 2020. Hard to say I had to reach that point though. I was always at it. I'll wear it on an airplane because I need to fly more than I need to not wear a mask, but it comes off as I de-board and straight in the first trashcan I find.

yup...never have been a personal space violator. Hated having to talk to anyone before covid that liked to stand all up in your **** just to have a conversation.

I feel like I reached a new normal 9 months ago. I follow rules of businesses if most other customers are doing the same. I still go to restaurants and have continuously since May. I went on vacation last summer and I'm going again next month. I have been getting together with family, without a mask, regularly.

I have been around Covid positive people several times and never got sick. I have now had the vaccine and so has my wife. Once the vaccine is widely available I will leave my masks in my truck unless I feel like I have no choice but to wear one. That might mean that I don't go to certain businesses anymore at that point and that is fine with me.

Only where I have to. I don't deliberately do it on my own.

A friend of mine from Hondo asked "do y'all do the mask thing here?" when he visited us in Aggieland a couple of weeks ago. I forgot that there were huge parts of the state that do not care.

I never distanced more than normal. Saw all of my friends and family that wanted to meet up. Took note of the friends that didn't want to meet.

Don't interact much at work, but I don't like most of my coworkers.

Lived my life, got Covid, and survived. I learned that the people that were scared of Covid probably aren't a great match for my level of insanity.

I live life normally but I am a pediatric ICU RN and learned a long, long time ago that it is not healthy to live life in fear. Never take a day for granted. If someone wants a hug, I hug them.

Sadly Branch Covidians are here to stay. Masks & SD will stay for some and not for others.

Fear is a powerful weapon and it's being used to it's fullest. The saddest part is there are kids being raised this way and will live in fear all their lives. They will never remember or know being truly free.

Right now I am 3/3, but I still did not wear a mask when I was 0/3, 1/3, or 2/3.

I have now had COVID and both doses of the vaccine but I still mask at work and in public. At work it is not an option and in stores I am mainly doing it out of respect for the people who work there who don't really have the ability to not interact with the general public.

The people who make an hourly retail employee tell them to put on a mask are just morons who are doing their own brand of nonmask virtue signaling.

Or we just don't want to wear a mask.

So we don't.

The people who make an hourly retail employee tell them to put on a mask are just making a choice not to wear a mask and as long as they explain that kindly to the store employee and don't act like an ass, are fine.
FIFY.

Seriously, stop the name calling and honestly IF that were the only real reason to wear a mask, we really coul;d just throw them away now. If you want to wear a mask b/c you feel compelled to do so b/c there is the potential it might limit viral load IF you are indeed infected and just don't know it, fine. Calling people names b/c they choose not going to get more people wearing masks, but will ensure many do not.
