It's a crapshoot on what brand any location receives on any day.

HEB gave me Pfizer and told me which one I would be getting in the confirmation email. May be worth trying to snag one there and if it's not to your preference, cancel.

How are you defining North Texas? My parents got Moderna at CVS in Rockwall.

Arlington and Mineral Wells seemed to have Pfizer. Maybe they're getting both. Dallas and Tarrant counties seems to be getting Pfizer.

Got the Pfizer shot in Denton County at the Texas Motor Speedway. They did 10K shots that day, all Pfizer. I'm going back for my second shot this Friday. Seems like that location is doing Pfizer, but it may have just been that week?

Received 1st shot today at the UTSouthwestern site in the Dallas Market Hall. It was all Pfizer. I didn't ask if there was an option.

I got Pfizer through the BSWHC Saturday morning at their vaccine site by the Star in Frisco. My daughter got Pfizer at Rockwall library yesterday at a teacher vax event.

Seems like a lot of people here are responding Pfizer in the NorTex area. My dad got his through Dallas County at Fair Park but I can't recall which vax.

It is a crap shoot through the CVS channel. My wife and I went through different CVS outlets. I received Pfizer. She received Moderna. They hand you the CDC card filled out with the vaccine manufacturer.

Got Pfizer 1st shot on Friday at Texas Motor Speedway in Denton. Denton appears to mostly be getting Pfizer and allocations have been around 25k doses the last few weeks.

I think hospitals generally have Pfiser and Counties have Moderna, but it isn't always the case

Is there a particular reason folks prefer Pfizer instead of Moderna? Best I can tell, no difference in efficacy, perhaps Moderna's a bit more rugged in terms of side effects?

Easy way to search which vaccine is at which location. Doesn't mean they have appointments for that vaccine but it at least helps you narrow it down if you're trying to monitor for appointments that might open due to cancellations, etc.

Most of the side effect ass kickers seem to be Moderna, which might be partly explained by the fact that while both seem to be equally effective, Moderna's dose is 100 micrograms while Pfizer is 30 micrograms

I do think it's true that Moderna is a little harsher. I had that one and thought my arm was going to fall off after the first shot. My second shot was just a bad head cold like feeling for about 12 hours.

If the provider you're going to is on this list, you can see which type of vaccine they got this week:

the_batman26: I guess yall need this, its something to take pride in. At least the Feds trusted us with the Space Center; and I seem to recall the Feds not having the best time in Dallas.
