Mostly due to the fact that there has not been a single dose vaccine with any long term efficacy in the last 20 years. Our immune system really seems to need that 2nd exposure.
So it is not the mRNA tech that I think favors long term immunity, but the 2 exposures.
I'm mainly concerned for the short term at the moment.
I got the Johnson and Johnson vaccine on Wednesday with no side effects at all. Since when I had it last May, it was so mild, I'm not going to worry too much about it. My main concern is not to get it and give it to someone else who might not have such a mild case.
I figure that we're basically in a learning curve and we are all, basically guinea pigs.
As far as one dose, how about the measles vaccine? Is that one dose or two? I've never had measles and I don't know if I ever had a measles vaccine, but if I did, it was an early vaccine in the mid 60s and I've never had any kind of booster.
