What are the TexAgs Doctor's opinions on a person getting one of the vaccines after they have had GBS? I got GBS in early 2017 after having the flu.

Not a doctor but a doctor I see also has Guillain Barre, and he checks with the CDC on a regular basis to check on any new information in this area. He got the vaccine and advises it for others with immune system issues.

My current PCP said I should consult the Neurologist I saw when I was in the hospital with GBS. That Neurologist is out of network and I haven't gone through the HMO insurance referral process to go see an in network Neurologist.

Thank you. The CDC came out with a new update on 3/12 and said no instances of GBS from the mRNA vaccines. 1 instance of GBS from the J&J vaccine but also 1 instance of GBS who received the placebo.

Relative had GBS in 1970 not related to any vaccine but has avoided the flu shot since then. PCP advised him to take the Moderna. Three weeks out from the second Moderna vaccine with no side effects from either injection. Long term, no one on this earth knows. You just have to weigh what is best for you individually.
