MIT researchers published a mathematical model in PNAS today that provides a much more sophisticated way to assess COVID transmission risk in closed spaces.

The model takes into account the type of room, how many people are in the room, whether they are wearing masks, and what type of activity they are doing, and how long they are in the room

you can go here https://indoor-covid-safety.herokuapp.com to play around with the model.

one thing you can do is evaluate the effect of masking, simply run a scenario with and without masks

Masks are done. Any further study is a waste of time.

that's not what the MIT simulation says.

The official narrative is that masks and social distancing will still be necessary at summer camps.

Junk in - junk out.

Interesting article but it understates droplet based vs aerosol transmission. It is also a theoretical & mathematical model so those can be prone to junk in junk out like B-1 83 stated. I am not going to argue the math or engineering behind their conclusions as that is not my area of strength!

Great. Let's do a NPI study in real life - I volunteer to be in the control group with no distancing, no masks, and a normal life.

I don't understand why there aren't more actual experiments done here. Have someone who is positive stand in a hallway and measure the air at different distances from them with difference airflow and time periods.
